The U-Boat brand was launched in 2000, nearly 60 years after the “Office Fontana” was assigned to produce a professional watch for Italy’s distinguished naval officers. Italo Fontana, grandson of the watchmaker’s late founder, used the original plans from the 1940s as inspiration to create bold timepieces that embody force and style. Fontana joined forces with acclaimed tastemaker, Monuir Moufarrige, in 2005 to bring the U-Boat brand into the watch industry limelight. Today, the rare artisanal quality and intricate handmade detailing have earned U-Boat worldwide appreciation from connoisseurs of rare and beloved timepieces.
